community survey

community survey
A term employed by social epidemiologists for studies designed to measure health independently of service-use, by screening individuals living in their homes in the community, using special health measures ( screening instruments ). Such surveys usually exclude those living in large-scale institutions, such as prisons or hospitals, and the homeless.
